Description | This article describes how to eliminate the status: 'Error: Device Already In Inventory' when any FortiAP was adopted by FortiLAN Cloud with one specific account, and when it is necessary to move the FortiAP to a different account. |
Scope | FortiLAN Cloud and FortiAP management. |
Solution |
If deploying FortiAPs to a new account without deleting them from the previous account, this message will appear in the new one:
Sometimes, when a FortiAP has been implemented with any model to the FortiLAN Cloud portal, this account that is managing the FotrtiAPs is no longer required for administration. In these specific cases, remove the FortiAP following this guide on that specific account: Moving a FortiAP between accounts | FortiLAN Cloud 23.4.0 | Fortinet Document Library
As a summary, remove the FortiAP from the inventory under the account no longer needed. Log in to the new account add the FotrtiAP with or without a key and finally deploy the FortiAP : Deploying a FortiAP device to a network | FortiLAN Cloud 23.4.0 | Fortinet Document Library
This is a straightforward procedure, but sometimes the above procedure described does not work. In such specific cases, delete the FortiAP from each Cloud Zone.
