Description This article describes how to solve the issue where users cannot authenticate on an SSID using WPA3 for FortiAP-423E after upgrading FortiGate to version 7. x.x.
Scope

FP423E-v6.4-build0481.

FortiGate-80E v7.2.4,build1396,230131 (GA.F).

Solution

After the customer replaced the FortiGate-100D with a new FortiGate-60F and imported all configurations from FortiGate-100D, many clients (almost 100% Android) stopped authenticating on a SSID using WPA3 as authentication method. This devices can authenticate only on an SSID with WPA2 authentication.

There is a known issue. Open a new ticket on FortiCare to get the interim firmware that fixes this issue.

Final GA version is to be released soon.

The workaround for this is to use WPA2 instead.
