Description

This article describes how to set up the MESH-LEAF configuration with the Leaf AP connected to the FWF internal radio or local Wi-Fi radio using the newly built 'wLmesh' interface on the FortiGate.

Scope FortiAP 6.4 and above, FortiWifi, FortiOS 6.4 and above, FortiGate.
Solution
  1. A new interface known as 'wLmesh" is formed on the FortiGate and the Leaf AP becomes online as a Wi-Fi client when it is linked to the internal radio of FWF.

  2. The FortiGate's 'wLmesh' interface is where the Leaf APs obtain their IP address.

Before to begin the configuration, read the following documents:

Technical Tip: How to configure MESH with FortiAP on FortiGate

Demonstration:

  1. The internal radio settings with MESH SSID.
