Scope

Applies to all FortiAP devices.

Solution

Follow the steps below to download the correct firmware for the FortiAP:

  1. Log in to the Support Portal:
    Visit the Fortinet Support site and log in using the username and password.

  2. Navigate to the Firmware Download Section:
    Go to Support -> Firmware Download.

  3. Select the FortiAP Product Based on Your Model:

    • FortiAP: For F and G series APs (e.g., FAP-xxxF, FAP-xxxG).
    • FortiAP-C: For FAP-C24JE models.
    • FortiAP-S: For S series APs (e.g., FAP-Sxxx).
    • FortiAP-U: For U series APs (e.g., FAP-UxxxF, FAP-UxxxEV).
    • FortiAP-W2: For E series APs (e.g., FAP-xxxE).

  4. Select the Download Tab:
    Select the Download tab.

  5. Locate the Firmware Version:
    Navigate to the folder containing the firmware version desired to upgrade to.

  6. Find the Device Model:
    Locate the device model in the list.

  7. Download the Firmware:
    Select the HTTPS link in the far-right column to download the firmware image to the computer.
