This article describes the command to enable FortiAP-C compatibility on FortiGate.

Solution
FortiAccessPoint-C compatibility with FortiGate is not enabled by default. To enable FortiAccessPoint-C in FortiGate use the following command:
config wireless-controller setting
set fapc-compatibility enable
end
fapc-compatibility also enables the FortiAP profiles for FAPC24JE, FAP431FL, FAP433FL, FAP231FL and FAPU231G on v7.4.X.
if it is not possible to authorize the FortiAP and encounter the below error then enable 'fapc-compatibility'.
