Description This article describes the scenario where the FortiAP is not showing the TX power configured.
Scope FortiAP.
Solution

FortiAP is subtracting antenna gain.

In the GUI interface, it is possible to see that the FortiAP is showing less TX power than the one configured in the FortiGate.

This behavior is because the GUI interface shows the TX power configured without antenna gain

In this example, the TX power is set to 5 dBm in the 2.4 GHz band.

As visible, the FortiAP GUI interface is showing TX power like 2 dBm.

This behavior could be validated with the FortiAP CLI command 'cw_diag -c radio-cfg'.
