Description This article describes the steps to troubleshoot issues encountered with the CVC600 device.
Scope FortiAP-U.
Solution

The Compact Vehicle Controller (CVC), designed to monitor vehicle status, supports WLAN communication. This device enables the transmission of vehicle status information to a remote server wirelessly.

CVC600 devices are experiencing difficulty connecting to the SSID broadcasted by FortiAP-U-223EV models, although they can connect without issue to other FortiAP models.

If such issues are reported, collect OTA captures using the following guide: Technical Tip: How to sniff wireless packets with a Mac system.

After capturing, check for Association Response packets from the AP that indicate 'Association denied because the requesting STA does not support the short preamble', as shown below:

If the captures match the above, collect another set of OTA captures along with the klog from the FortiAP, as well as a backup from the FortiGate, and submit a ticket to the Fortinet Technical Support Team.

From FortiAP:

FAP# klog --> Run it until we see the prints of the wireless device and press control+C to stop the captures.
