Description
This article describes the minimum requirement to bring up FortiAP-221E(FortiAccessPoint-221E)

Solution
FortiAccessPoint-221E was introduced in August-14-2017 and it comes up with firmware 5.4.4-build-x.
It requires FortiOS – 5.6.1 and later firmware (FortiGate should be upgraded to 5.6.1 or later firmware) for a FortiAccessPoint-221E to show up in Managed FortiAccessPoint list of FortiGate
If FortiGate firmware is lower than 5.6.1 and FortiAccessPoint221E is connected to FortiGate, then FortiAccessPoint gets an IP address and shows up in DHCP Monitor but the AP will not be added in “Managed FortiAccessPoint” list as it is not a supported AP.
