Technical Tip: How to configure FortiADC to validate the license from FortiManager and download the FortiGuard services update from FortiManager built-in FDS service

Description	This article describes the steps to configure FortiADC to validate the license and download FortiGuard services updates through FortiManager.
Scope	FortiADC.
Solution	Prerequisite: FortiManager enabled the built-in FDS. FortiADC models and firmware versions are in the supported list of the FortiManager release notes. FortiADC can send requests to FortiManager TCP port 8890. FortiADC appliances, especially the VM models must be able to connect to the Fortinet Distribution Network (FDN) to validate the licenses and to download the FortiGuard services update packages. If FortiADC is deployed in a closed network whereby no Internet services are allowed for the FortiADC, it can be configured to validate the license and download the FortiGuard services package updates from the FortiManager. In FortiADC, go to the FortiGuard page under the System panel tab. Enable the Override Server setting and insert the FortiManager IP with the built-in FDS service port 8890 into the Override Server Address box. In the FortiADC SSH/CLI console, run the debugging for the updated module and manually initiate the FortiADC FortiGuard update process. The debugging commands are given as follows and the result should be showing a failed error before configuring the FortiADC to update from FortiManager. diagnose debug module updated 7 diagnose debug enable                     After adding the FortiGuard server override settings in the FortiADC using the FortiManager IP address, the manual update shall succeed now.
