Will the Forticlient be bahvior-based in future or will it always remain as signature-based?

Hello Alisha,

Currently, FortiClient protects known threats (signature-based) via FortiGuard Labs, unknown threats (non-signature-based) with FortiSandbox. This is in addition to Security Fabric endpoint compliance, visibility and vulnerability management, and VPN that FortiClient offers currently.

For a formal roadmap discussion, please request your local Fortinet team to arrange a meeting with our FortiClient PM.

Cheers,

Damien

FortiClient does have a couple of micro engines inside the A/V module that act as heuristic and behavior based detection. FortiSandbox integration with FortiClient augments its detection capabilities with near realtime delivery of dynamically created signatures, as it detects new targeted or zero day attacks.

Check our results in the latest NSS Labs Advanced Endpoint Protection testing. FortiClient achieved a recommended rating and did very well in the testing.
