VPN FortiGate 60E Appliance with 3G/4G Cell and 5MB Satelitte Connections

My agency is moving to Fortinet appliances. We currently have a mobile office that travels around to different locations. Out data center tech's tried to get the FortiGate 60E configured and working on our truck, but were unsuccessful. He thinks it may be because there is too much latency coming from our ISP connections. Does the 60E handle ISP speeds at around 5-7MB with latency around 500ms-700ms and connect to office through VPN tunnel with decent performance?

Both satellite and 3G/4G/LTE connections would have higher latency compared to LAN connectivity. There is no way around that.

However, one way of increasing priority is using the SD-WAN features with the FortiGate, along with the traffic/QoS steering of the applications. This would help increase the usability, which were challenged by the high latency.
