Hi James,

No worries, please download the image file below via the Fortinet Egnyte link. It's the latest MC4200 image compatible with the AP320 being SD 7.0-13.
You'll need to open up the MC4200, remove the compact flash card, connect it to your PC and use an imaging tool, such as Win-Image to load the image file onto the compact flash card.
Once complete, you can then put the card back into the MC4200 and it should boot up ok. Then run setup via CLI etc.

8.3.3 would be great if you got it.

Hi Dustin,

I have uploaded a copy of the firmware image for you as below.

Note that this is the full image so is a large file ~2GB.

Hi Claes,

The linux recovery login is just admin / admin, but note this is a separate process to what we're discussing here.

The recovery image file is loaded via TFTP, the image file provided above is to re-flash the CF card using an imaging tool.

If you need the recovery image file instead, let me know.

Regards,
Mark

Do you have an image for the 1550? Our controllers crashes everytime we try to upgrade. Thank you.

Hi John,

My MC4200 stopped working and I have LED next to HDD on the face of the unit. So am guessing the memory card went belly up.
I am not sure which version of system director I need, I am using AP320s with the MC4200 so version would work best with these APs.

have a backup, so will try to reconfigure once get it restarted.

Thanks for the quick .

Hi James,

What System Director version did you need? Depending on how corrupt it is you make need to remove the compact flash card,  re-image it using WinImage + a controller image file. you have a backup or can reconfigure it.

Kind Regards,
John

Great and thanks!

Now the only thing I need is the login and password to the recovery in a 6.x version of our MC1550. Having that I'd be able to repair two more controllers…

DustArne

Awesome, thanks. So I just need take the cover off, pull out the CF card and reimage it now right.
MarkStan

Do you happen to have any resources on how to write the image to a CF card using WinImage?  When I mount the IMG file that you linked to, it has 6 different partitions.

Also, I tried to backup our CF card using WinImage and it created a VHD file.  Do you know where the configuration file is saved for the controller?  We aren't able to locate our backup.

Thank you for any assistance you can give!

Hello,

I have a problem, corrupted card, but from screenshot pics I see the version 8.1-3-2 for MC4200. I downloaded 7 something image, but I thought that how do I update it back to the version where it was. I have only 832e APs.

I would be happy if you could help me. Thank you in advance!

Hello Matti,

It is unclear to me what release you actually require.

Please confirm your controller model and the required firmware version and I'll see what I can do.

Regards,

Mark
