Is possible to configure the fortigate unit as mail-relay for the SMTP?
A customer want to dismiss an old linux server that act as mail relay on dmz, but don't want to make nat directly to the mail server in the server farm.
(Excluding a Fortimail) wich solution can I suggest?
Thanks You
Roberto

I'm afraid that is not possible currently , the Fortigate's inspection method is purely by transparent proxy , having an SMTP mail-relay built-in to FortiOS was never really envisioned and kept for the Fortimail.

Thanks for the answer is the same things I have shared with the customer.
Best Regards
