You can also do it by hand pretty easily. The interfaces are the critical piece as FGT models name them differently across the line. You can look at the default config on the destination FGT and see how they are named. In some cases they are the same. Obviously, make sure they are on the same code rev to start.
* set you interfaces
* check your objects (addr/ addr groups) to make sure they call they right interfaces
* check your security profiles
* check your VPNs
* check your policies
* check your routes
This should get you pretty close. This is effectively what converter does, but for free. It is not that difficult...pretty sure you can knock it out with a couple tries tops.

FYI, FortiConverter's trial version allows you to do the FortiGate conversion, as well as allowing you to review conversion for all vendors.
