Fortigate Setup Wizard screws up if any IP information is changed.
I have a brand new Fortigate 60E that I have patched to the latest Firmware V5.6.0 build 1449 (GA).
If I run the Setup Wizard and do NOT change any IP settings e.g. IP of the unit, DHCP etc....then the unit configures everything correctly and internet access works without anything further having to be done.
However if I change ANY of the IP information e.g. the most common requirement on any new install is to change the IP address of the device and the resulting DHCP range.....then it screws up.
Internet won't connect, policies not created, DHCP not turned on so that I have to set a static IP on my client machine etc etc.
VERY POOR EXPERIENCE FOR A NEW CUSTOMER.....and I'm coming from NetGear devices.
Has anyone else had similar problems >

Unfortunately those are not really very helpful or informative comments.
First question - standard procedure is always to update a new device to the latest firmware.
But you are clearly saying V5.6.0 is garbage / full of bugs.
Can you please provide more detail on that ?
Michael,
We only use a firmware when it have more than 05 patches, it is magical number for us.
Most of our customer run 5.2.11 and only the E series run 5.4.5. 5.6.0 is the first after beta, use it only if you need a function that only exists in this version, otherwise, 5.4.5 is the version for you. Install the OS via TFTP and make a factory default procedure.
Install from scratch without wizards, you are going to work a lot but you are going to have a very good experience with the product. Fortigate is amazing.

Thanks for confirming:
-V5.6.0 is a first release / full of bugs and should not be used
- The wizard on V5.6.0 is broken / full of bugs and should not be used
- Manual config is recommended until V5.6.0 is stabilised
- Use of earlier releases is recommended
Fortinet have ADMITTED THE WIZARD IS A DISASTER / DOES NOT WORK / FULL OF BUGS:
For Internet access, as I am in the office I can only test DHCP and it is working.
Meanwhile, I've got an update from the development team that do not use Wizard for configuration.
The Wizard feature will be removed in the next firmware release.
Apologize for the inconvenience it may caused.
