Description This article describes steps taken when a hardware device is stolen or lost.
Scope All Fortinet hardware devices.
Solution

Lock the unit as stolen or lost. 

 

In the event a hardware device is stolen or lost, log in as the Primary User (Organization Administrator) to the FortiCloud support.fortinet.com portal and submit a CS ticket requesting the hardware device to be tagged as lost/stolen and the device will be locked. 

 

Stolen/Lock tags help prevent the registration of a stolen or lost device by an unauthorized user. The primary user approval is required for both the application and removal of the lock.

 

  1. If the unit has been found, the account's primary user can submit a request to customer service to remove the lock, providing justification.
  2. If a replacement unit of the same model has been purchased, the primary user of the account can submit a request to customer service to transfer the services from the stolen/lost device to the replacement device.
