Description This article describes an issue where the FortiClient EMS version is not visible in the Fortinet Support Portal.
Scope FortiClient EMS and Fortinet Support Portal.
Solution

The Fortinet Support portal gets the product versions from FortiGuard servers. Although FortiClient EMS connects to those servers, it does not disclose its version. Hence the version of the FortiClient EMS version will not be visible in the Fortinet Support Portal/ Asset Management, either under the device “version & update” tab or under the software lifecycle menu:

 

Device 'version & update' tab:

  1. In the Fortinet Support Portal, go to Asset Management -> Products -> Product List -> Enter FortiClient EMS Serial number.
  2. In the Version & Update tab, it will be possible to see that the OS Version is N/A.
    Example below:

Software lifecycle menu:

  1. In the Fortinet Support Portal, Go to Asset Management -> Products -> More Views-> Software Lifecycle.
  2. Note that the FortiClient EMS version will not be listed, and this is the expected behavior.
