We are announcing the addition of two new models to Fortinet’s FortiHypervisor hybrid appliance family. The FortiHypervisor-90E is a small desktop hybrid appliance for small branch offices or remote locations, and the FortiHypervisor-2500E is a higher end appliance for larger on-premises and cloud hosted deployments.

Leveraging Fortinet’s innovations in security processor technology, the FortiHypervisor-2500E is a customizable Hybrid appliance that delivers sufficient processing capacity, memory and throughput to run advanced virtualized security and business services, with 132 Gbps firewall throughput, 88 Gbps IPSec VPN throughput and multi-tenancy (customer or group separation) support for on-premises or cloud hosting by enterprises and MSPs.

FortiHypervisor is well suited to many different deployment modes and business needs.

For enterprises that need the flexibility to adapt their office infrastructure and services to their growing business needs and turn up new services quickly, FortiHypervisor delivers service customizability and lower costs.

For managed service providers who want to deliver differentiated services quickly and cost effectively to their enterprise customers using Network Function Virtualization (NFV) architecture, FortiHypervisor consolidates high performance advanced services as Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), enabling cost effective service delivery.

Fortinet’s innovative hybrid approach combines the best of physical and virtual appliances:

  • High performance: custom ASIC hardware acceleration for fastest performance and ultra-low latency
  • Open: NFV interoperability and orchestration of Fortinet VNFs and third party VNF’s

Hardware acceleration for high performance and low latency.

Fortinet’s ASIC acceleration built into FortiHypervisor hybrid appliances delivers high performance and ultra-low latency, which can be crucial for services hosted in the cloud as well as running on-premises.
