Starting from Mid-Q4 2025 Pricelist (effect date 1st Dec 2025), new FortiAuthenticator Cloud customers will not enjoy entitlement with FortiIdentity Cloud (i.e. FortiToken, FortiToken Mobile and SMS). New FortiAuthenticator Cloud customers will be required to purchase the above multi-factor entitlement separately and registered against their instance of FortiAuthenticator Cloud to enjoy using MFA.

Note: for existing customers who are currently entitled to above MFA entitlement will continue until the end of the existing contracts. Once contract expires customers will have two options:

  • Purchase a FortiIdentity Cloud license for all existing FortiAuthenticator Cloud (FAC) users with MFA enabled. The migration will be transparent and the token will not have to be re-provisioned.
  • Purchase new multifactor contracts for tokens/SMS entitlement and reprovision new tokens.

Rational for change – this is to differentiate between two solution offerings -FortiAuthenticator Cloud and FortIdentity Cloud (FIC), one being a hosted PaaS (Platform-as-a Service) and FIC being a SaaS service which includes MFA entitlement.

To support the change above, v25.4.a FortiAuthenticator Cloud will be released (with FAC v6.6.7 version) around mid Nov 2025. Customers can upgrade to this release that enables them to register 2FA token and mobile contracts.

We appreciate your understanding and continued partnership with Fortinet. If you have any questions or need assistance with the transition, please contact your SE or Account Manager for further explanation or contact Fortinet Support Team for further assistance.
