Youtube Downloader

Youtube is allowed in our company, the only application that I need to block is the downloader. I need to block application such as Youtube downloader or mx tube.. Please help..

I don' t know the inner workings of the YT downloader but I guess it' s using the same protocol and pattern like a streaming client or browser. If true, you cannot distinguish the applications (bad downloader vs. good browser). The only way to control this would be to disallow to run the application on your client PCs - for Windows, by using Group Policies. This would definitely by outside of the firewall.

I already blocked the streaming and download but they can still download using YT downloader..

Hi Jero, Can you tell me which FortiGate Platform and its FortiOS version you are using to block YTD?
