Question

where is the default gateway... ?

I use a FG60 v.3 mr. 3, with two WAN, with different ISP. I changed one ISP and the new service is with a Static IP. When I want to configure that: - System -> Network -> Wan2 -> addressing mode -> Manual I don`t find where I can input the DEFAULT GATEWAY. I remember in old version that it`s there, but I can`t find now. Someone knows ? Thanks

    In 3.0 the default gateways are configured in Router -> Static.

    Be careful. If you' re using DHCP from your provider, the static route doesn' t have to be hard coded. Check the status window under router (Router => Monitor) to see if the zero (0.0.0.0) route is indeed there.

    medd & rwpatterson, thanks for the answer. I configured the default gateway in router -> static but I can`t use this wan. For example I can ping to the ip address of default gateway from outside but when I didn`t ping the ip of the WAN (I have checked ping when I edit the interface WAN). do you know if I forgot something else ? thanks

    Are both WAN connections static IPs? If so, you will need to configure 2 static routes with identical distances. You should see two entries for 0.0.0.0/0 in Router > Monitor, one pointing to each interface with the same distance on each. If one is DHCP then you need to check " Retrieve default gateway from server." and do not create a static route for this connection, as it will create this route for you. Then make sure you have identical distances for both in Router > Monitor. Finally, you need to configure a priority for the routes via CLI. Let' s get the status of both connections first though.

    I have two WAN connections. WAN1 is a DHCP connection. I have checked the option of the retrieve the deaful gateway from server. WAN2 is a manual connection. I configured the distance 10 to WAN1 and 20 to WAN2. I want to connecto thru the WAN2 the VPN and the rest of the traffic via WAN1. The problem is from outside I can`t ping the IP address of WAN2 or if I bring down thw WAN1 I can`t the WAN2 for all (VPN & traffic), something like it doen`t work. :-( ??

    Set both distances to 10, then configure the priority to be WAN1. Since that interface is DHCP the priority is set on the interface. conf sys int edit wan1 set priority 1 next end Then WAN2 needs to be set to priority 2. This is done on the static route since it is a static interface. sh router static (this is to get the route ID) conf router static edit X (where X is the route ID for the 0.0.0.0/0 WAN2 route) set priority 2 next end You should now have equal routing to both WAN1 and WAN2, but all traffic should go out WAN1 unless it originated on WAN2.
