What happens when changing password policy on FortiGate

need to change the password policy on some FortiGates.  That part is pretty straight forward.  Am curious as to what occurs after.  Are existing passwords still accepted, or is the user forced to change their password on the next login?  Mainly curious as to how this affects the local admin account.

If you add a password policy or change the requirements on an existing policy, the next time that administrator logs into the FortiGate, the administrator is prompted to update the password to meet the new requirements before proceeding to log in.

Hi @dbeitler ,

I just tested it, please see the screenshot.

It will show the Password Policy and force you to change the password to conform to the password policy.
