vpn web/dns setup

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and just after a bit of guidance in relation to setting up ssl vpn web on a 60D, What is the best way to set this up using domain name as opposed to public IP, We use split dns internally so our .local adds is separate to our .com for name resolution and obvious reasons. 

Am i correct in thinking that mydomain.com that AD is authoritative for will just require a new record within the forward lookup for that zone with an example entry of "vpn"  with our public IP for external access to be able to resolve and remote in via vpn.mydomain.com
