We are currently using the FortiClient Windows free VPN client version 7.4.3. It has come to our attention that CVE‑2025‑62676 is reported to affect FortiClient Windows 7.4.0 through 7.4.4.

Could you please confirm:

Whether this CVE affects the latest free 7.4.3 build we are using.
If a fixed build or patch is available for the free VPN‑Only client to mitigate this CVE.
Whether Fortinet will continue to provide security updates for the VPN‑Only free client and how we can obtain any patched binaries if required.

Based on the problem description, about current vpn only free version V7.4.3 hitting CVE‑2025‑62676.
Please note that the VPN only version is the free version without any support.

About the CVE-2025-62676 fixed version, there are 2 options you can consider:

1. To use V7.2.13 which is still have the vpn only version if you want to use the free version
2. Upgrade to a paid version which is with the EMS license

For the next update version of V7.4.5, there is no information whether it will come with vpn only version.

I know of 2 actions to take to avoid this CVE, I just want to know if Fortinet will release a new patch for version 7.4.3 like they did last time for the CVEs.

Fortinet has released a hotfix for the full FortiClient Windows 7.4.3 client that is available for download through FortiGuard. Please contact Fortinet Customer Support to receive this hotfix. The new version for both is 7.4.3.1.8758.

Following as I would also like to know if there is a timeline or expectation for CVE‑2025‑62676 to be remediated in the free version of Forticlient. We utilize the free client at our company and a Tenable scan is telling us we need to upgrade to version 7.4.5 (which is the EMS version that we do not have licensing for).

Hi,

You can switch to 7.2.13 free version and after they patch the new 7.4.3 version you can switch again, i believe it would be soon. For my company we switched to 7.2.13 and when 7.4.3 version is patched we will switch again. This is the solution for now.
