Question

Validate Dataset - what does it do and how to treat its results?

"FortiAnalyzer Upgrade Guide" instructs in its "Step 4. Verify and Validate" to "Validate All Custom" Datasets after the upgrade.

I cannot find any explanation of that this does nor what to do if output shows errors, even as it does in the Upgrade Guide itself.

What does it do and how should I treat its results?

    Hi,

in order to be sure about database schema changes, is good practice validate all custom dataset you have been working hard on.

I.e:   between 5.0.x upgrades, one version (i don't rememer exactly which one right now), column "status" was renamed to "action".  Your datasets became useless if you don't fix that; validate button does it quickly

    regards

So... it verifies that Datasets are (still) valid and flags errors/actions if they need to be fixed..?

    Exactly,

if dataset are still valid, you can use within your charts

If some fix is needed, you can do it in the same window and a little help is available there.

What is exactly your issue in this topic to solve?

Attach a screenshot, maybe someone here could help you.
