Using Fortiguard on Slow Satellite

Hi,

 

Is there any special configuration for Fortiguard services when dealing with a slow satellite connection.  The website lookups are brutally slow. My ms on Web Filter service is over 1200-1400

    Many of our remote sites are on satellite connections, but for us it's the TTL on some DNS query lookups that is causing an issue for us -  on real bad days, it looks like page/site timeouts, but drilling down to the sessions we found the TTL values for some FQDNs expires in transit.  Checking FortiView/destination sessions we see too many open/stalled UDP DNS sessions.  At some sites we resorted to using a local DNS servers.  The following link kinda explains what is/was happening in our case.

    Thanks, I will also look into the TTL on sites searched  and stalled sessions.
