Update server Forticlient

We have a very slow internet link over here. We will buy a Fortimanager but until then, can I update using the " Use this server to update" to point to a local server? I try putting the PKG update on an HTTP server to no avail. If not, if there a command line I can put in a logon script to do a manual update from a PKG located on a shared drive? We also have 2 remote locations with slow VPN, so even with one Manager I' ll still need a way to update the remote clients with minimum bandwidth. Internet from all clients is not an option... Thanks

I' m afraid, no. In your case, only manually update can do and there is no script to run it automatically. But, it seems a nice feature request. Best lei

Yes. You can use command line to do manual update with a .pkg file. Very simple. c:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\update_task.exe -s a_0 <your_pkg_file_name> After got the FortiManager, you can change the update server to it. Just need to enable the necessary services on FortiManager.

GREAT!!!! You' re saving my life. I was in a ral jam for our remote sites (40+ PC). Haven' t started deploy the clients there yet just because of that issue. Thanks again

With that many nodes, why not just build a tunnel and skip the clients?
