Hello, If I am following you correctly, you are having issues transferring the warranty on the appliance to your company? Honestly this sounds like an issue you want to email customer service about, I would try cs@fortinet.com.

Be ready to provide proof of ownership like a PO/invoice/etc...? I find a fortinet-partners can speed up warranty changes and support contracts information. Also if the device is warranty under the other party, FORINET will not just blindly re-assign it. What you can do is to contact the subscriber is warranty under and have them add you or create sub-account for that device. remember support is how companies make money

It' s not difficult to change, but your HW provider is telling fibs. Most likely they are true about not having a replacement device in stock so that has to be shipped from the manufacturer. Don' t think that' s your or Fortinet' s issue, the seller should stock a few, especially the lower-end devices for quick replacement. Transferring the registration/license to the new device is as easy as calling your local Fortinet support number and have all the docs ready. Someone should be able to assist you in 10 minutes.
