transparent vs NAT mode

Hi  everyone,

 

I just wanted to know in which saturation/condition we should deploy fortigate as the transparent mode or NAT mode, I am asking you all because I am new in FortiGate firewall.

Hi Umesh,

 

Transparent mode is used primarily when there is a need to increase network protection but changing the configuration of the network itself is impractical. In NAT/Route mode, a FortiGate unit is installed as a gateway or router between two networks
