Single FortiGuard license for FortiGate A-P HA cluster... for which models?

Hello,

I work for a company with 3 office sites. There are about 30 peoples working on each site.

We are planning to replace our actual firewall solution with 3 clusters of 2 Fortigate 70G or 90G and "Enterprise" licences.

During my information research regarding the different models and licenses to be sure to make the right choice, I've found this article:

Single FortiGuard license for FortiGate A-P HA cluster 7.4.6

The problem is the last Firegate generation (xxG) are not listed in the compatibility list.

Do you know if it's planned to propose these kind of licence for the xxG series?

I asked to the support but didn't received any response...
Thanks.

Think about the lifecycle of the hardware vs. license cost for long run. Since those F-Series's EOO(end of order) dates haven't been released so at least it would still last 5+ year. Then when they finally reach EOS(end of support), there should be H-, I-, or even J-Series of hardware would be available at that time. It's quite worth pondering which is "better" to either get 2 x G-Series with 2 x license now, or 2 x F-Series with 1 x license until its EOS date.

hi,

i wouldnt keep any high hopes for the time being for any G-series models to be included anytime soon, maybe when the actual F models will be EoL/EoS

Thanks for your replies.
Considering the performance level of the 70G, we should consider the 100F with a single license. In that case, it's no longer a good deal.
Even with the less powerful 80F, it's not worthwhile.
So we'll purchse two 70G with two licenses. We'll see in five years when it's time to renew, perhaps only one license will be necessary then.

Once you bought two separate 70Gs, you wouldn't be able to change it to an HA pair with single UTP license. You need to buy a new pair of hardware with the special SKU.
