Set static IP with dynamic GATEWAY

Hello, I am new to the forum and just knowing the FortiGate.

Have a fixed Internet IP, set up the modem as a bridge operator and signed up the FortiGate as PPPoE, the FortiGate recognized my static IP normally, but need to configure as dynamic routing, or would have to make another setting?

 

The internet service provider reported my IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xx dynamic GATEWAY.

    Hello Thiago,

     

    The best is to use the default route sent by your provider when the pppoe negotiation is completed.

    config system interface

    edit <your interface>

    set mode pppoe

    set defaultgw enable

    end

     

    By default, it will install the route received from the ISP, with a distance of 5, and a priority of 10.

    You can adjust these values using (distance, priority) on the interface.

     

    If you want to use the DNS provided by your ISP, you can also 'set dns-server-override enable' in the interface.
