Hi guys !

I'm facing an issue with requesting forticare trial license.

First of all, i downloaded VM on Fortinet ressources.

After that, I installed it and click on "Evaluation license" and then it worked nice.

I deleted my VM and now i need to do another tests.

So, I installed another time a VM and when I click on "Evaluation license" I have this message : " requesting forticare trial license proxy (null)

I think the problem is i already used a trial license, is it possible to delete the first one and then i'll try to enable it on my last VM ?

Thank you for your support.

Regards.

Hi @Dzavicho ,

Do you have access to https://support.fortinet.com ?  If yes, please login to check whether the old FGT VM is there.  If yes, delete it, then reapply the trial license.

I believe that this is because only 1 evaluation license per product per account.

So one Eval license for FGT, FAZ, FMG each.  When you want to request second one, you have to delete the old one.

Here's a clear response to your FortiCare trial license issue:

The problem you're experiencing is common when trying to reactivate a trial license on Fortinet VMs. Here's what you need to know:

1. License Limitation:
- Fortinet typically allows only one trial license per registered account
- Your previous activation is likely tied to your account/email

2. Possible Solutions:
A) Try using a different email address to register for a new trial
B) Contact Fortinet Support to request license reset (they may accommodate testing needs)
C) Wait 30-90 days - some trial licenses automatically reset after this period

3. Alternative Options:
- Consider using Fortinet's always-free VM options if available
- Check if your organization qualifies for NFR (Not For Resale) licenses

For immediate testing, your best options are either contacting support or trying with a different email account. The "(null)" proxy error suggests the system isn't properly communicating with Fortinet's licensing servers, which sometimes happens when reusing trial credentials.

Note: The 30-day evaluation period is designed for single-use testing, so repeated trials on the same account are typically restricted.
