Question about MGMT consideration for 2 FortiGates nodes in high availability

Can 2 FortiGates nodes in HA use a different subnet for MGMT?

example 

First device take MGMT IP 

10.20.20.64/30

and the second firewall assign 

10.20.20.68/30

each firewall is connected to a router there is no mesh topology 

first firewall is connected to first router and second firewall is connected to the second router 

MGMT subnet is on the router
