Do I need to configure the Fortigates directly in FortiManager, or can I configure them (directly in the box) and then upload the settings to the manager?

Is there any documentation on how to do this?


*I need to make some configurations on some Fortigates and I was unsure about this.

You can do both.

Personally I usually configure FGT first then integrate it to FMG.

    Hi @renanrdrigues ,

     

    Technically, it's better to configure FGT first. Then add it into FMG.  Once FGT is added into FMG, always to use FMG to add new configurations.   Otherwise, it may cause "Conflict" status between FGT and FMG.

     

    Off topic, why did you add FMG V4.0 and V5.0 tags?  I don't think that there is still anyone running FMG V4 or V5.  And I also don't think that you are using FMG V4 or V5.
