Policy Matching - application control

Hi guys,

 

Am I correct in saying that application control (or all security profiles for that matter) are not involved in the policy matching process in FortiOS. Once a policy is matched via source, destination, port or time, the security profiles of the matched policy will be applied?

    That is - to my understanding - correct. Recently, the device ID has been added as matching criterium, as well as user identity.

    That would be high on my wishlist to match a policy according to the application detected!
