No, it is not mandatory to purchase both the lab access and the instructor-led training to obtain the NSE 4 certification. The certification is awarded based on successfully passing the official NSE 4 exam. While instructor-led courses and hands-on labs can be very helpful for preparation and gaining practical experience, they are optional training resources and are not required for certification.

Congratulations on earning your Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) certification and preparing for the NSE4 / Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) exam!
To clarify your question,it is not compulsory to purchase either the lab training or instructor‑led training to earn the certificate once you pass the required exam(s).
Mandatory requirement: Successfully passing the NSE4/FortiOS Administrator exam (and one additional NSE5 exam if pursuing FCP) through Pearson VUE.
