Dear All, I want to configure NAS in the fortianalyzer. I am expecting a quick revert from someone pls. My requirement is we have more than three years logs in my fortianalzer hard disk. I need only last 6 month data. So I got a suggestion from one user that configure the fortianlyzer as the NAS storage and we can share over the Network. Please someone help me out. Thanks in advance.

Ramesh, A lot depends on how your FAZ is configured. 3 years of logs sounds like A LOT. If you have a FAZ VM, you have to license your storage. That' s probably not practical for what you want. If you have a hardware appliance, you can store your logs on an external mySQL database server and use as much storage as you need. Fortinet has instructions on how to setup an external mySQL server. You' ll want to check the docs to see if that would work for you.

Hi Bill, I am looking for the NAS configuration example, then I will explore the fortianalyzer in network and share to any of the storage servers. Moreover we have 10TB storage server.

Hi Ramesh FAZ stores logs as " raw logs" " SQL DB" You can configure raw log to be exported to an External SYSLOG which can have a NAS Storage You can configure MySQL externally which can use SQL Storage.
