Need info on log message...."fails due to un-assigned IP on AP AC"

What does this mean and how is it resolved?  Suddenly a site with two 4200s, 832i's, is seeing this log message for many clients.  No recent changes, rebooted APs and controller, same issue.

2016-Nov-28 15:39:34.629254 | e4:a7:a0:20:f4:63 | IP Address Discovered  | IP = 169.254.128.12 fails due to un-assigned IP on AP AC = 00:0c:e6:16:74:c7. 2016-Nov-28 15:39:34.872565 | e4:a7:a0:20:f4:63 | IP Address Discovered  | IP = 169.254.128.12 fails due to un-assigned IP on AP MAC = 00:0c:e6:16:74:c7. 2016-Nov-28

Thus the client can not get a DHCP address.  Presumnable because AP 74:c7 wont releast client?  Just a guess.  This is happening an many APs.

    Hi Jimmy,

It appears that your client device is not getting an IP address and attempting to use a 169.254 address which the controller is not passing. What is your configuration?

I would look at DHCP and VLAN configuration as a starting point.

    Kind regards,

    Paul
