Need help on IPSEC VPN configuration

Hi,

Im new to Fortigate Firewall and Security Domain, i had gone to fortigate Firewall Training Videos and got an idea how to configure VPN in Fortigate Firewall and how the VPN connectivity establish and how it works, but while configuring i get confused which port should be selected as outgoing and which port as incoming. In short i get confused on the ports selection.

Can someone please help me with some example or else any document or KB will also works.
