hi,

and welcome to the forums.

This is a typical task for a Fortinet partner I'd say. The main steps are:

- bring the old FGT incrementally up to the latest available firmware

- downgrade the new FGT to the lowest av. firmware

If you're lucky, there is one fw version for both. Then migration consists merely of copying the first line of the config file, and a restore.

If not, it usually means to copy and paste blocks of code from old to new while reading up on the differences between v5.2 and v5.6 (which are huge, compared to v5.4 to v5.6). Beware that the syntax may have changed a lot in between, like with identity based policies.

Agreed, but the biggest help is getting the code versions as close as possible if not identical. Next in line would be the interface names.

Thanks ede_pfau, rwpatteerson for your reply. But i can upgrade to maximum 5.2.13 only. i mean my fortigate device will support only 5.2.13.
