iOS Proxy settings breaks Forticlient

We have a couple of internal proxy servers available via split-tunnel once connected to the company VPN.

However, as proxy on iOS is set on the connection level (as in Wi-fi), it seems that even the SSL-VPN connection tries to use the HTTP proxy, but fails to connect as the proxy is on the wrong side of the VPN.

Is this a restriction in how Apple disallows usage of other than webkit? Or am I'm doing something wrong again? :)
