Hi,

I am trying to apply a pbr that will send all tiktok traffic via different isp.

I have applied the pbr and in the "Internet Service" i can see enteries for various things but i do not see one for tiktok etc. basically i want all raw video stream traffic to be sent via differnet ISP.

I have selected Google Web, Google RTMP, Google-Other and able to divert all youtube related traffic via different isp.

Need guidance how to make use of internet service in pbr ?

Thanks

Hi,

Tiktok ISDB is currently not present
You can route traffic using FQDN
you can create below fqdn and use it in pbr
tiktok.com
tiktokcdn-in.com
tiktokcdn-us.com
tiktokcdn.com
tiktokd.org
tiktokv.com
tlivecdn.com
ttlivecdn.com

If you have found a solution, please like and mark it as solved to make it easily accessible for everyone.

its not resolving below names. and i tried online nslookup for them and they didnt fetch any ip.

tiktokcdn-in.com
tiktokcdn-us.com
tiktokcdn.com
tiktokd.org

ttlivecdn.com

for other urls it just gave 8-12 IP addresses ..

why is there no internet service definition for tiktok and alot of other services such social media services ?

what other options i have for pbr such bandwidth hogs services?

Also i cannot use Addresses (like FQDN Group etc) and Internet service at the same time in same PBR Statement. I have to create seperate PBR for addresses and  a seperate pbr for internet services.

when the end result and processing is same why we have to create two seperate policies.

Great thread — thanks @AK-khan and @sjoshi for the insights.

It’s surprising there’s still no native Internet Service Database (ISDB) entry for TikTok given how much bandwidth it consumes globally. For many admins managing multi-WAN routing with Policy-Based Routing (PBR), TikTok’s traffic patterns — especially the live streams — are becoming a major factor.

For now, FQDN-based rules like tiktok.com and tiktokv.com work to a degree, but the CDNs constantly rotate and use dynamic IP ranges that don’t always resolve reliably, especially via nslookup.

Until Fortinet expands ISDB entries for TikTok and other modern apps, one option is DPI-based App Control (if enabled on your model/firmware) for better recognition.

Also, for testing and analyzing TikTok live stream behaviors and CDNs, I’ve been using these tools and modded APKs:

  • tiktokliveapk.com.pk – to observe live stream behavior under different ISPs.

  • tiktakmodapk.com – good for controlled playback testing without TikTok’s native data optimizations interfering.

Would love to see Fortinet enhance support here. These platforms are no longer “just social” — they’re driving business decisions and network policy now.
