Install rolls back on Server 2012 Essential

Installing the latest FortiClient on a Windows Server 2012 Essential... If the SSL VPN component is selected the install gets to the drivers installation, stops, and rolls back. If only the base is installed (no other options) it installs fine.

Since I cannot find any install log anywhere I'm at a bit of a loss for details other than that.
