Inquiry on generating Custom VPN User Report from FortiClient EMS

Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to generate a daily report of connected VPN user data from FortiClient EMS that includes the following details:

  • User ID / Username
  • Profile
  • Role Name
  • Last Login
  • Email ID
  • Failed attempts 

Currently, the report export option is available only in CSV format, but it does not include the Email ID and Role Name. Also, all reports appear to be merged, making it difficult to isolate specific data.

Has anyone configured a custom report in EMS to include these fields? If so, please share the steps or any guidance on how to achieve this.

Greetings!

 

Would you please try to generate a custom report from EMS. It may give you options.

 

 

  • Log in to FortiClient EMS (Web GUI).
  • Navigate to → Reports > Custom Reports.
  • Click Create New Report.
  • Select the dataset: Remote Access VPN Logs (or a relevant dataset based on your EMS version).
  • Set Filters
  • Schedule the report

    Hello Dhruvin,

     

    I was wondering if you/anyone could clarify a couple of things for me

     

    1. Is it possible to generate custom reports in FortiClient EMS? I couldn’t find a custom reports option, so I’m not sure if this is achievable.
    2. Can FortiClient EMS integrate directly with a third-party syslog server?

    If this is documented in any article or admin guide, could you please share the links? A screenshot from the admin guide would be really helpful to make it easier to navigate. If this is achievable, I’d really appreciate any guidance or screenshots that confirm custom report generation with the necessary filters.
