Import Policy from 500 firewalls?

Is there a way to perform the "Import Policy" operation on multiple firewalls at the same time? We have roughly 500 firewalls registered to a FortiManager. I would like to import policy from them without having to right-click each one and select "import policy" one at a time.

 

This is for FortiManager 5.2.7.

 

Selecting multiple firewalls and right-clicking results in a grey "import policy" item that cannot be selected.

FortiNet support claims this cannot be done using the GUI, using scripting. Further there is no FMG CLI "exec" command to import policy from a firewall.

 

Does anyone have experience with the Web Service API? I assume this is something that could be done via the API though for 500 firewalls it may be easier to manually import the policy packages than it would be to write new software for the first time.
