Question

"idle" logout on FortiCloud

Hello fellows,

I just want to get your feedback on an ongoing issue I've had for years.

I often log in to FortiCloud, use 2FA, and work on multiple support cases, download firmware images etc.

While I have several browser tabs open in FCloud, I often get silently kicked out for being "idle".

I am not!

For the life of me I cannot find any idle timer setting. Getting kicked out several times a day not only costs time but nerves.

Q to my fellow mates (power users for sure): do you experience this as well? Is it an issue during your day-to-day work?

and a question to our FTNT team: is there any way to make the idle period longer, or better still, make the software aware that one is working while being logged in, just not in all open browser windows at the same rate?

Best regards

Hi ede_pfau,

It seems that SSO is configured and managed within their internal systems; therefore, modifying the idle timeout value from the end-user side is not possible at this moment.

Thanks for looking into this.

IMHO the idle time wouldn't need to be adjustable IF the idle detection was smarter. Is there anything I can do the keep the idle timer from expiring? Like, a fake mouse mover or the like from the home office theater?
