ICMP Packet Capture from GUI

Hello.

 

Please help!

 

I need to capture ICMP traffic on one interface of the firewall. I've enable the packet filter with protocol 1, but the only thing I capture is the ICMP Destination Unreachable. I want to capture also Echo, Reply, ...

 

Please Help!

It doesn't sound like a packet capture problem. Instead likely a routing problem(s). Do you have a default route in the routing-table to an UP interface? Otherwise you shouldn't see "Unreachable".

Is the ping successful and you just don't see it in the pcap file?

Are you sure you monitor the correct interface?

'ICMP Destination Unreachanble' can be also from traceroute.
