Accessing the " virtual console" port on the 60D requires the use of FortiExplorer. Instructions are detailed in this SysAdmin Notebook document. Instructions for resetting the password should be the same as those found here at step 6 through 9.

Sounds like you need to format the device and load the latest firmware. Sounds like it got corrupt at some point and the system is not booting into the OS.

If you are unable to use the FortiExplorer " virtual console to access the boot menu (BIOS menu) you likely have no choice but to use the reset pin hole on the back of the 60D (next to the power connector). I have never tried this myself and not sure if pressing/holding it in will cause a) factory reset (wiping the config), b) format boot device, c) factory restored firmware. I suggest opening a ticket with Fortinet support, but I am going to guess they would want you to use the reset pinhole.

Assuming the 60D is already registered you need to log into the support.fortinet.com site using the email address (aka account ID) that the 60D is registered under. If you have forgotten your account ID or password, there is a link for both, located below the login box (on the support.fortinet.com site). If the 60D is not registered you will need to do that first. If you have not already registered a user name (email address) with the support.fortinet.com site you need to do that as well. Either login or sign up on the support.fortinet.com site. After you have logged in to support.fortinet.com site, click on the Asset Management link at the top of the page then choose " Register/Renew" . Once you have logged into support.fortinet.com and the 60D is registered, click on the Asset Management link at the top of the page then choose " Manage/View Products" . Click on the 60D to view details then choose " Technical Assistance" under Assistance Center (on the left-side of the page). (edit: for creating a ticket.) As far as I' m aware you need a valid Fortigate subscription before you can access the download section of the support.fortinet.com site, where you can download firmware for the 60D. If the 60D was bootable and is configured for such -- you may have had the option of uploading both a new firmware image and/or config file (including a new pw for admin). If the 60D was configured for auto-install, just save a copy of the firmware (renamed to image.out) and config (renamed fgt_system.conf) on a USB stick and boot the fgt with the USB stick installed. (By default the auto-install feature is disabled though.)
