How to reset Fortigate 30D to factory default

I have Fortigate 30D

not able to retreat login and password from previous guy

try login as "maintainer" with bcpd+sn#, not worrking, looks like diable this feature

is anyway to do hard reset or soft reset to let us able to use this equipment or throw it to the garbage directly

please help

As far as I am aware the maintainer option will only work from a cold reboot, and from the console (USB?) port only.

There looks to be a reset pinhole next to the power connector that should restore the router to factory defaults.

But if all else fails, and assuming the auto-install feature is enabled, you could try sticking a basic config file (with a blanked or known admin password) on a freshly formatted usb stick (name this file fgt_system.conf) and power up the 30D with this USB stick installed.

Hi there,

The maintainer works from a power cycle, and type "maintainer" as username, bcpb+SN as password within 30 seconds after login prompt. To factory reset, push the pinhole during 30 seconds from power cycle.

did try power cycle or unplug power to reboot, same no luck to login as maintainer

yes this product with usb management port only

try that pin hole, whatever plugin power or unplug power around 30 sec, no response to reset

and Dave, you said the only way is using another workable device with known login and password to boot the device up, but where I can get the conf file?
