Question

How to cross-upgrade from FortiClient EDR EMS cloud to FortiClient XDR EMS cloud

Hello,

we like to change or cross-upgrade from FortiClient EMS cloud FC1-10-EMS05-538-01-DD) to FortiClient EMS cloud XDR FC1-10-EMS05-1041-02-DD). And because of the fact that You cannot mix different types of licenses in EMS cloud we need a migration to the new product.

Is there any documentation on how to migrate from any FortiClient #variant to Forticlient XDR

Is there a way to preserve the settings for clients w/o exporting settings as XML one-by-one?

Has somebody made experience with such a case already?

best regards

Hi Martin,

To cross-upgrade from FortiClient EDR EMS Cloud to FortiClient XDR EMS Cloud:

  1. Review Subscription Levels: Ensure you understand the current subscription and the desired subscription level. FortiEDR and FortiXDR have different service levels.
  2. Use the Co-term Tool: Access the co-term tool to align all contracts to the same expiration date.  This tool will help in managing the upgrade process efficiently.
  3. Upgrade Process: If the upgrade matrix indicates a one-step upgrade (blue cell), proceed with the co-term tool.  If a two-step process is required, first change the subscription level, then the service level.
  4. Contact Fortinet Support: If you encounter any issues or need to upgrade beyond the standard process, contact Fortinet Support for assistance.
  5. Verify Upgrade: fter the upgrade, ensure that all endpoints are functioning correctly and that the desired features of XDR are active.
Best Regards
